CHESTERTON Primary School has been rated ‘good’ in its latest Ofsted inspection.
The school was inspected on June 17 and 18.
This is an improvement from the previous inspection in February 2023, where the school was rated as ‘requires improvement’.
Inspectors found that: “Leaders have created a culture of high expectations for all pupils. They are determined that every child will succeed.”
They also said that “Teachers regularly check pupils’ understanding to correct misconceptions and move pupils’ learning on.”
The report praised the pupils for being “polite and sociable” and said they are “proud to take on positions of responsibility, such as playground buddies and science ambassadors.”
It also noted that the school’s vision, “growing together, learning forever” is “at the heart of all that it provides.”
The report said that: “Children begin to learn to read as soon as they start school.”
The Ofsted report also included feedback from parents, who it said were mostly very happy with the school.
It said: “They typically comment on the incredible staff, who help their children to thrive.”
Headteacher Libby Pringle said: “I am immensely proud of our school community—staff, pupils, parents and The Corinium Education Trust—who have collectively driven this transformation to ‘good’ across all areas.
“We’re committed to nurturing a safe, engaging and ambitious learning environment, and this outcome highlights the success of our values in action.
“We’ll continue striving for excellence and ensuring every child flourishes.”
The Corinium Education Trust, which has supported the school since 2018, also recognised this achievement.
