Dear Parents and Carers,
I am delighted to share with you the outcome of our recent Ofsted inspection, which took place on 17th and 18th June 2025. The full report is now available on the Ofsted website and on our school website.
I am extremely proud to let you know that Chesterton Primary School has been judged Good across all areas:
- Quality of Education: Good
- Behaviour and Attitudes: Good
- Personal Development: Good
- Leadership and Management: Good
- Early Years Provision: Good
This is a fantastic achievement for our school community, particularly as our previous inspection judged us as ‘Requires Improvement’. This result reflects the dedication of our staff, the hard work of our children, and the support from our parents and carers. The inspectors recognised that Chesterton Primary is a happy, welcoming, and inclusive school where children are enthusiastic about their learning and staff have high aspirations for every pupil.
The report highlights many positives about our school, including:
- The strong curriculum that ensures pupils achieve well,
- High-quality teaching with effective use of techniques like ‘I do, you do’,
- The nurturing environment that supports pupils’ well-being,
- Opportunities for pupils to take on leadership roles and develop personally,
- The positive relationships between staff, pupils, and parents.
The report also identifies areas where we can continue to grow, particularly in ensuring all activities fully stretch and support children in every subject, and improving attendance for some pupils. These are areas we are already focused on and will continue to prioritise in the coming year.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your ongoing support and partnership.
