School Uniform

At Chesterton, we wear a school uniform to make us distinctive from other schools and promote a sense of belonging and identity to our community. It also sets high standards of presentation and pride in appearance.

We understand uniform can be expensive, so we have made our uniform as affordable for families as possible and have a regular pre loved shop open.

Our uniform is: 

School Uniform, including our new PE kit, with our logo on it can be bought from D and J Sports in Cirencester.

School uniform with our logo on it can be purchased from D and J Sports in Cirencester but there is no obligation to purchase this. Uniform without a logo is acceptable, can be purchased from many supermarkets, and on-line stores.

Second hand uniform can also be purchased at a reduced cost from the school directly and dates of the school shop opening times will be published regularly.

Hair should be tidy, a natural colour and hair ties should be school colours only – burgundy, grey, or green and kept to a minimum. We encourage children with long hair to tie their hair back during the school day.

  • Braids are permitted as a protected characteristic for some pupils but should with minimal beads and no bright coloured threads.
  • Black boots are only permitted during adverse weather eg: severe flooding or snow. ( for medical reasons, this must be discussed
  • and agreed with the headteacher)
  • Nail polish is not permitted unless it is a natural colour and not easily identifiable.
  • Earrings should be studs only and covered with a plaster for PE ( health and safety)
